Easy bread topping ideas

We’ve put together a few easy bread topping ideas below that are sure to have your mouth watering! These recipes are also perfect when you have leftovers lying round or veges that need to be used up.

This combination is a winner on a pizza, and just as yum on toast!

 

 

TIP: Have leftover chicken from a roast? This tasty topping idea is the perfect way to use it up.

 

Hummus & mesclun

Fresh, light and tasty – the opportunities are endless.

 

 

  • Hummus (we used beetroot, but any variety works.)
  • Mesclun leaves
  • Crumbled feta
  • Pumpkin seeds
  • Wholemeal Grain Bread

TIP: Any seed combination works here, we recommend trying pine nuts, sesame seeds or sliced almonds.

 

Avocado & egg

A classic combination with a twist.

 

 

TIP: There are endless ways you can jazz up this classic. Try poached or fried eggs, or chili flakes and siracha sauce for a bit of spice.

Available in a convenient 4pk, they’re the perfect easy dessert. Whether you’re entertaining some guests or just want a sweet treat, you can’t go past these delicious brownies.

 

Whilst they taste great on their own, we also love to jazz them up a little with a few simple ingredients:

 

  • Choc sauce
  • Whipped cream
  • Icecream

  • Fresh fruit
  • Berry compote

Jazz it up with Pinwheel Sandwiches 

 

Looking for a more exciting lunchbox filler for the kids or a healthy party food alternative? Try a pinwheel sandwich! They’re a fun and delicious way to mix things up and the kids can help make them with you.

 

Jazz up an ordinary lunchbox sandwich or kids party with these pinwheel sandwich recipes.

 

 

Salmon and Cucumber Pinwheel Sandwich

Ingredients 

Method

  • Cut the crusts off the bread. Use a rolling pin to flatten the bread down really well.
  • Spread each bread slice with a thin layer of cream cheese.
  • Top with two slices of smoked salmon per bread slice.
  • Roll the bread ‘sushi-style’ into two tight rolls. Slice into three pieces and push back together into a roll.
  • Roll each roll in a square of baking paper just a little larger than a slice of bread. Twist each end like a sweet so the rolls are secured and place into the fridge until you are ready to serve.

 

Chicken and pesto pinwheel sandwich

Ingredients 

Method

Shake up a milkshake with your favourite Coupland’s products! 

Milkshakes are an old time favourite and heaps of fun to make with the kids for afternoon tea or a sweet treat on the weekend. Ever tried adding a biscuit or brownie to your favourite milkshake recipe? We have and turns out it’s deliciously good! So here’s some shake-spiration to get you started. Which one will you try first?

 

 

We’ve used our Gingernut and Shortbread biscuits along wtih our Choc Brownie and Fudge slice in these but anything goes, so pick what you fancy and whip up your milkshake.
