Fun for all at the 2020 Coupland’s Kids Christmas Party

The festive season is in full swing and what better way to kick of the festivities with the staff kids Christmas party on Saturday at Spencer Park.

It’s a party not to be missed and has become a strong tradition at Coupland’s running for over a decade. 2020 has certainly been quite the ride and we felt very grateful to still be able to host it this year with over 100 kids attending, all children and grandchildren of Coupland’s staff members.

We couldn’t have asked for a better day with plenty of sunshine despite the odd rain drop. The BBQ’s were cranking from midday, thanks to the awesome cooks and once everyone had finished their lunch, and of course donuts for dessert, the fun began!

We had running races and a funny backwards running race plus giant games of snakes and ladders and checkers. Plus an awesome pirate ship bouncy castle which was so much fun!

With all the travel restrictions around the world at the moment, we thought Santa might have trouble travelling from the North Pole to Spencer Park. Luckily though the Spencer Park Volunteer Fire Brigade worked their magic and he made a grand entrance on a big red fire truck with presents galore! Santa’s elves must have really made use of their present making time in lockdown this year. The kids were so delighted to see Santa, there were lots of questions for him and of course letting him know what they were hoping for this Christmas.

We finished the day off with the fire truck putting on a show by spraying their water hoses and letting the kids have a go too! Everyone then headed home with big smiles, full from party food and pockets full of lollies from the lolly scramble.

It was a fun day out for the whole family and we’re looking forward to 2021 already!
